I know French, now what?

Posted on August 17, 2018

I know French, now what?

I learned French, now I’m going to find opportunities to practice it as much as I can. I’m going to look for pen pal programs around the world, skype opportunities with people in different countries, listen to podcasts, and find local meet up groups. I’m going to learn more idiomatic expressions through watching the news, movies, and T.V. shows. I will keep a notebook where I write new vocabulary words/expressions and I will practice them as often as I can. I will do things in French that I find interesting. For example: I will read Harry Potter in French. I can watch Friends in French I will try to comprehend French humor more through books and various media devices. This will make learning not only productive, but exciting and engaging. I will make plans to visit a French-speaking country (e.g. parts of Canada). When I go to this country, I’ll try to speak only in French even if the people speak English to me. I will continue practicing as much as I can with as many people as I can. There will be bumps along the way, but the end result will be worth it.
